【明報專訊】I spent much of my first year feeling quite lonely. I didn't want to embarrass myself so I just didn't speak to anyone, and if I did, I spoke in Cantonese to other Hong Kong students. I always spent a lot of time on my "prep" (homework); everyone would be outside having a great time while I toiled away. I suppose it was because I knew how much my parents had to pay to send me here, and therefore I could not afford to disappoint them.
