【明報專訊】As is the case with many other foreigners, Gregoire knew nothing about Hong Kong until he arrived here. "Before coming here, I didn't know what to expect. I saw a lot of lights on building exteriors (外牆) the night I arrived here. When morning came, I was shocked by the scenery of the city." Gregoire, who has lived here since 1999, is married to a local woman and has worked as a pastry chef in a number of hotels here. He is now proficient in Cantonese. "I understand 70% of the Cantonese I hear. As for the remaining 30%, I've to rely on guesswork."
