【明報專訊】The protester, Lau Yuk-tong (62), is a chicken transporter (雞苗運輸工人), whose business closed down in the wake of the 2008 bird flu epidemic (禽流感). He demanded compensation by climbing on the footbridge, waving a banner and threatening to jump from the roof. Upon learning Detective Sergeant Lau had died, he knelt (下跪) before the cameras to show his regrets and vowed not to take any irrational action again.
