【明報專訊】“Christmas symbolises bliss, hope and love. It is a religious festival to celebrate Christ's birth. It now incorporates many commercial components. Nevertheless, many ancient traditions of Christmas still persist. Let's have a glimpse of some remarkable Christmas elements!”

Christmas food

The gingerbread man is a common character among Christmas foods. Gingerbread men are cookies made of gingerbread in the shape of a human figure. They date back to the 16th century when they were first served in the court of Elizabeth I of England.

The roast turkey is another traditional Christmas dish. It originated in England. Though turkeys roasted in traditional ways are hard to find in Hong Kong, the dish remains a symbol of Christmas. To make one, you need a turkey, vegetable oil, butter, lemon juice and herbs. The most important thing you need is, of course, an oven!
