【明報專訊】The Nobel Prizes were officially instituted in 1895 in Sweden. The first Prizes were those in physics, chemistry and medicine. Four Nobel Prizes were awarded in 1901-the three and the first Peace Prize. In 1969, after the Nobel Foundation had received a huge donation, the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic sciences was first awarded. The Nobel Foundation is a private organisation founded in 1900 under Alfred Nobel's will to manage the finances and administration of the Nobel Prizes.
