Comment﹕Avoid Common Errors
文章日期:2010年4月13日

【明報專訊】This is a short, effective scary story, Kwong Ying. It has a beginning, middle and end, and some good horror imagery to scare your readers. We can make some improvements, though. Your first sentence sets the scene well, but it has many common errors-we usually use used to to describe things we often did in the past. Also don't forget your s's in plural words (movies, skulls, crows, feet, hands and footsteps), and update words like it to be plural too. Finally, people sometimes say exciting when actually they mean "scary", "thrilling" or "disturbing": "When I was six years old, I used to like watching horror movies because they are very thrilling."
