【明報專訊】Mo started publishing his works in 1981, and with his extraordinary talent, made himself one of China's leading writers without much difficulty. Red Sorghum Clan (《紅高粱家族》) has remained his most widely acclaimed novel. Set in his hometown of Gaomi during the Second Sino-Japanese War, the novel tells the compelling story of a family's struggle for survival. His another novel, Big Breasts & Wide Hips (《豐乳肥臀》), won him an important mainland literary prize in 1997. The same year he left the army and started working with a newspaper.
