【明報專訊】The doorman at the building where I work was a good-humoured old man. Although he rarely had the liberty to leave his crammed duty post, he enjoyed daily visits from many of his friends — workers nearby, fellow doormen, and of course, tenants of the building. Our short exchange every day became a ritual to start my work routine. Most of the time, the conversation was unremarkable. Sometimes, he would surprise me with life strategies that I may need someday.
