【明報專訊】LAST Wednesday the US Senate adopted the Holding Foreign Companies Accountable Act, which requires foreign corporations to provide proof that they are not controlled by foreign governments and allow US supervisory agencies to examine their financial reports. If they fail to comply, their shares will be barred from trading in US securities exchanges. The senator who proposed the act did not mince words and said that the act is targeted at Chinese corporations listed in the US.
