【明報專訊】THE government has released the latest unemployment figures. The unemployment rate in Hong Kong was 3.2% between last September and last November. Still at a low level, it is only 0.1 percentage point higher than that between last August and last October. The rates of the most affected trades, such as tourism, retailing and catering, evidence a worsening unemployment situation. That is truly a matter of concern. According to official data, the rate of the consumption- and tourism-related sectors has risen to 5.2%, the highest in three years, and that of the catering and service sectors, 6.2%, the highest in more than eight years.
