【明報專訊】WITH TURMOIL worsening in Hong Kong, it has drawn all sides' attention whether the central government will interfere with concrete action. A press conference was convened by the State Council Information Office to state its stance on the current situation in Hong Kong. The most important signal conveyed by the conference is that the central government still believes that Hong Kong can handle the crisis at hand itself under "One country, two systems". In other words, the anxiety at the prospect of the deployment of the People's Liberation Army or the declaration of a state of emergency can be eased for now.
