【明報專訊】THE trade war between China and the US has begun and is escalating, with Hong Kong also caught up in it. During a Legco question-and-answer session on the 12th of this month, Chief Executive Carrie Lam said that she would respond to the trade war with a three-pronged approach: actively engaging in the master plan of the country's development, diversifying Hong Kong's economic development and enhancing its international standing. Such a resolute note should suffice to correct the mistakes made previously by Hong Kong high-ranking officials, who have sought to keep their distance from the trade war over the past few days.
