【明報專訊】DUE TO a breakdown of the signaling system, train services on the Kwun Tong line of the MTR were seriously affected for more than 10 hours. The management of the MTR claims that the accident was due to some "peculiar and unusual" causes. However, the MTR's signaling system has encountered all sorts of problems in recent years, so much so that they are now the norm rather than the exception. The condition of the older train lines is particularly deserving of concern.
