【明報專訊】Felix planned his work so he could go home in time to watch his favourite television programme. The mouse living in Felix's machine had his own evening plans. "I was going out to visit a cheese factory tonight," he said. Unfortunately, the best laid plans of mice and men failed when the machine broke and they had to stay in to repair it. This pronouncement (it's found in a poem by Robert Burns, a Scottish poet) tells us that no matter how great or small we are, our plans and wishes don't always turn out as we would like.
