Editorial : Only stairs but no escalators
文章日期:2017年5月22日

【明報專訊】AS Hong Kong's population is ageing, one of the issues that concerns many citizens is the construction of walkway-linking systems and replacing long flights of stairs and slopes with escalators and lifts in order to make access easier for elderly people and those with special needs. However, the government has been making slow progress in putting in place the so-called "Hillside escalator link systems". While citizens are waiting, all they can see is stairs but not escalators, putting the bureaucracy and slothfulness of government departments on full display.
