AV Bi-weekly﹕God's Silence——a test of faith

It took Martin Scorsese nearly three decades to make Silence (《沉默》), based on Shusaku Endo's (遠藤周作) historical novel with the same title. The gist of the heart-wrenching story of Catholic missionaries' calling and the brutality they underwent, as well as the life-and-death threats to the converts, is meticulously delivered. The intense preparation has resulted in a movie of superb craftsmanship.
