澳洲拒中資購電網 或涉國際戰略博弈
文章日期:2016年8月15日

【明報專訊】THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT has announced it decided on grounds of national interests not to allow Ausgrid, the country's biggest electricity distribution grid, to sell its controlling interest to Chinese bidders. Judging from the many recent cases in which China's investments in Europe and the US have been called off or obstructed, the Australian government's decision is not an isolated case. The containment of China may have spread from the military and diplomatic fronts to the investment front. What has happened shows the challenges China is faced with in its rise are far more complicated and perilous than the generality of people can imagine. Among those affected by the Australian government's announcement is Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings (CKI). It is worth our close attention whether Hong Kong companies' overseas investments will be affected because of the "China factor".
