「軍虎」雖囚籠反腐未竟 軍改僅破題阻力重重

【明報專訊】TODAY (August 1) Army Day is celebrated on the mainland. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is to greet the 89th anniversary of its foundation in its peculiar ways, for it has seen former vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) Guo Boxiong sentenced to life imprisonment and "drawn" (displayed the most sophisticated anti-carrier weapons it has) in the South China Sea. To be realistic, though PLA tigers like Guo have been caged, the battle against PLA corruption has not yet ended. The writing of the long "military reform" essay has just begun, but its actual operation has appeared misshapen. The military reform, which profoundly impacts on various vested interests, is bound to meet with all sorts of obstructions.
