Editorial : Unacceptable comments on the June Fourth Incident
六四習作:破無力,立無方

【明報專訊】THE pluralism and diversity of Hong Kong society has long been cherished and regarded as one of its core values. Looked at from this perspective, various student groups' recent departure from the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China and refusal to attend the candlelight vigil in commemoration of the June Fourth Incident to be held in Victoria Park are nothing controversial. After all, everyone is free to make their own decision, and being offered a free choice is of the utmost importance. It is also a manifestation of not only the Hong Kong spirit but also Hong Kong localism. That said, the article written recently by a student, in which the Alliance is labelled a "procuress" and a "pimp", is not only a slander on the Alliance, but also an insult to candlelight vigil participants. It is totally unacceptable in the civilised society of Hong Kong, and as such should be condemned.
