【明報專訊】A howl of protest is a cry or some form of vocal objection (反對的聲音) to something dissatisfying. For example, the other day people let out a howl of protest when bus fares were suddenly increased. I told that to one of the wolves I know and he laughed. "Oh, we frequently let out howls of protest too, but it's usually at night at the sight of the moon." That's odd, for I just heard one of them giving a howl of protest at the sun!
