【明報專訊】THE GOVERNMENT announced that, in 2014, the poor population went down to 962,000, the lowest level in six years, which shows that the poverty alleviation measures introduced by the government have to a certain extent taken effect. However, the decrease had to do with the government's cash grants, along with other welfare policies, which are not objectionable, but the sustainability of which is questionable.
