【明報專訊】BUILDINGS put up by civil servants cooperative building societies (CBSs) have fallen into disrepair. Therefore, CBS owners have over the years sought the authorities' help towards their redevelopment. The Development Bureau has recently put forward a plan under which the Housing Society will launch a pilot scheme for helping CBS owners with their redevelopment projects on certain conditions. Initially, most CBS owners are lukewarm about it, and they may make counterproposals. Whatever demands they may make, the Housing Society should stick to the principle of making no losses, for CBS owners were benefited when their flats were built. There is no reason why the government should now subsidise their redevelopment projects with public resources.
