【明報專訊】Having raised HK$150,000 in less than 48 hours, Hong Kong Free Press (HKFP), a non-commercial online English language news source, became the quickest project to hit its crowd-funding goal in FringeBacker's history. With the exception of several big donations, most of the money was an accumulation of small individual donations of less than $500. Meanwhile, the technology and journalism communities are enthused to have the opportunity to contribute their skills to the new platform. The verdict: a significant population wants an alternative independent English source of news.
