【明報專訊】LEE KUAN YEW, the founding father of Singapore, has died after an illness, closing the last chapter of his legendary life. Singapore, when under his leadership, followed the path of authoritarian development, with every effort made to expand the economy and create new opportunities, while freedom of speech was curtailed and political dissension not tolerated. Without Lee, Singapore could not have become a country that is prosperous and committed to the rule of law.
