【明報專訊】FIVE lawmakers from the pro-democracy camp are accused of receiving donations from Next Media chairman Jimmy Lai. The Legco Committee on Members' Interests has, quite appropriately, demanded that they respond to the complaints, after which it will decide whether to launch an investigation. As real pecuniary advantages are involved, Legco members should understand that the matter is a sensitive one, and that members of society will judge their integrity on the issue. We hope the democrats concerned will be strict with themselves and come clean about the donations so as to dispel people's suspicion that they have been seeking personal gain.
