【明報專訊】THE ANTI-CORRUPTION STORM on the mainland seems about to go through a new phase, and people may begin to look forward to the abolition of Politburo Standing Committee members' "implicit impunity". Guangzhou Party committee secretary Wan Qingliang, former vice chairman of the Central Military Commission Xu Caihou and secretaries and guards of Zhou Yongkang, formerly a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) have been expelled from the CPC. The anti-corruption storm grew fierce in just a matter of days. Not only low- and middle-ranking officials but also high-ranking ones are under investigation. Rumour has it on the mainland that the facts of the Zhou Yongkang case will soon be made public. That seems now only a matter of time.
