【明報專訊】IN BEIJING a jeep ran onto a pedestrian walkway in front of Tiananmen the day before yesterday (October 28). It knocked down many passers-by, hit a huabiao (ornamental column) and collided with a parapet of the Jinshui Bridge before it exploded. It was destroyed. Since it took place at a sensitive location, the incident, in which five were killed and thirty-eight others injured, has aroused attention both at home and abroad.
