【明報專訊】AFTER its ten-month deliberation, the Long Term Housing Strategy Steering Committee has come up with data of housing supply and demand and made concrete recommendations for tackling the housing problem. There are now figures the government may refer to. As long as it regularly examines them, makes adjustments as required, works out plans on the basis of them and ensures ample land supply, there will be hope of bringing about an elastic and relatively stable property market. However, those recommendations must be realistic before this goal can be attained. If the government adopts them, can it straighten out the supply-demand imbalance in the property market? As yet there are no grounds for optimism.
