【明報專訊】THE GOVERNMENT has for the first time had concrete data about subdivided units (SDUs) in the territory. A survey commissioned by the Long Term Housing Strategy Steering Committee shows at least 170,000 people live in SDUs. Their living conditions are poor, and their lives are threatened by serious hazards. Furthermore, the high rents for such cubicles point to injustice. It is indeed a shame to Hong Kong (called a highly developed city) that some of its citizens have to live in SDUs.
