【明報專訊】LAST WEEK the Education Ministry of Taiwan had the legislation governing the admission of Hong Kong and Macau students amended to allow Hong Kong and Macau associate degree and higher diploma holders to enrol on Taiwan universities' two-year degree courses. Those courses are similar to top-up degree programmes in Hong Kong. In the first year, fifty-one Taiwan institutes of science and technology (of which thirty-eight are private and thirteen are government-funded) will offer between them 3,350 places. Applicants must submit their transcripts but are not required to sit for any exam.
