【明報專訊】IT IS more than likely that there will be a candidate screening mechanism for the 2017 Chief Executive election, when there is to be universal suffrage. Commissioned by Ming Pao, the University of Hong Kong's Public Opinion Programme has recently conducted a public opinion survey on the pro-establishment camp's proposals for a screening mechanism, and found that 39 percent of those polled were in favour of the introduction of such a mechanism, while 38 percent were opposed to it. The numbers were about the same.
