The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions

【明報專訊】"There's that caution sign again!" Albert exclaimed. "I have to be careful not to make any wrong turns!" he muttered ( 喃喃自語 ). Albert has in mind the saying that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. It tells us that just making promises ( 諾言 ) or telling ourselves to do something isn't good enough. Our intentions (意圖) are meaningless-and sometimes destructive ( 破壞性的 ) - unless we take action to carry them out.
