In an interview published in today's Ming Pao, Lau Siu Kai, former head of the Central Policy Unit, points out that "National Education should not be launched despite opposition. It will do harm instead of good when too much emphasis is placed on the cultivation of patriotism". If the government is determined to go against the opinion of the public, it is bound to face further resistance from the public.
