【明報專訊】On 5 July 1908, a West Virginia church sponsored (贊助) the first event explicitly (明確地) in honour of fathers in the United States - a Sunday sermon (講道) in memory of the 362 men who had died in the previous December's explosions at the Fairmont Coal Company mines in Monongah, but it was a one-time commemoration and not yet an annual holiday.
