【明報專訊】THE Chief Executive candidates' election forum organised by Election Committee (EC) members is to be staged this evening. EC members belonging to different camps are certain to set up a barrage of questions no less poignant than those raised at the forum hosted by the media last Friday. As none in Hong Kong but the 1,200 EC members (of whom 1,193 are validated voters) have the "privilege" to vote, the forum is putting to the test not only the Chief Executive candidates, but also the EC members themselves. We hope they will put partisan considerations aside, and for the benefit of Hong Kong as a whole raise on the public's behalf questions that will force the candidates to come out with the truth about the many things that have been divulged recently. If the EC members only engage themselves in spiteful attacks based on private interests, they will render the "small-circle" election even more odious, and at the same time incur the displeasure of the public.
