【明報專訊】At the start of every autumn term, Jaime is asked to write a paper telling his teacher how and where he spent his summer holiday. "My teacher will be surprised to read that I spent my entire summer just bumming around," Jaime said. I'm sure Jaime's teacher will be startled (吃驚) alright, because to bum around is to wander about doing nothing. A bum is a vagabond (浪子、無賴) or a tramp (流浪漢). "I can't bum around now that school has begun. I must now apply myself to my studies," Jaime added.
