【明報專訊】NOW Leung Chun-ying has informed Chief Executive (CE) Donald Tsang of his decision to resign as Executive Council convenor, the curtain on the next CE race has gone up. The 2012 CE election will still be "small-circle". Only the 1,200 Election Committee members will have the vote. Nevertheless, citizens should concern themselves with it. If opportunities arise, they should actively take part in it and put forward their demands so that people may discuss in the run-up to it what the government should do or change and forge general consensus. Furthermore, citizens' involvement may make the winner of the CE race more legitimate. That would make it easier for the government to pursue its policies.
