【明報專訊】YESTERDAY Vice-Premier Li Keqiang made a speech at the Forum on 12th Five-Year Plan and Mainland-Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Financial Cooperation. In it he declared it was the central government's policy to consolidate Hong Kong's status as an international financial centre and support its efforts to become an offshore yuan centre. This speech is of great significance to the SAR, for it outlines the roles the nation strategically requires it to play in the new stage of its development. If Hong Kong makes the most of its strengths, it will soon become a full-fledged offshore yuan centre.
