【明報專訊】LAST WEEK Secretary for Development Carrie Lam announced a number of principles the government would adhere to in dealing with unauthorised building works (UBW) in New Territories (NT) village houses after she had had a meeting with representatives of the Heung Yee Kuk (Kuk). She stressed repeatedly there was no question of "amnesty" and UBW that posed imminent danger must be demolished. She said the government had to adopt a pragmatic approach, adding, "The way it deals with UBW in the NT in an orderly manner is identical to the strategy it has adopted in taking enforcement action against those in urban areas."
