【明報專訊】On 8 October 2010, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced that Liu Xiaobo (劉曉波), a Chinese writer who played a prominent role in the 1989 pro-democracy movement, would be awarded this year's Nobel Peace Prize for his long and non-violent struggle for fundamental human rights in China. Liu has been jailed four times since 1989. He was again imprisoned in 2009 for inciting subversion of state power (煽動顛覆國家政權罪). He will remain behind bars until 2020. Liu tops the TIME magazine's list of top ten political prisoners.
