【明報專訊】AUGUST 24 saw an air disaster at Yichun Lindu Airport, Heilongjiang. A passenger jet missed the runway and crashed. Forty-two died, and fifty-two were injured. The cause of the disaster remains to be found out. However, from what has come to light, the crash points to extremely serious problems with feeder air services - called nerve endings of the nation's civil aviation system. The authorities need to have a comprehensive review of feeder air services and, to ensure civil aviation safety, take suitable measures to root out what may cause air disasters.
