【明報專訊】THE Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) has proposes lifting some restrictions on employees withdrawing their MPF money. This would surely help people who need money if a suitable approval mechanism prevents abuse. The MPF system is designed to help citizens to provide for their retirement. What concerns them more is exorbitant management fees. The government should take practical measures to address this problem. Next year, MPF members will be allowed to transfer their contributions to other MPF scheme providers. The government should then do more to educate citizens on investment so that they will invest correctly and live more comfortably in retirement.
