【明報專訊】THE world once braced itself for influenza A(H1N1) (the new flu). The new flu has not caused serious damage in the first stage, but the WHO has warned that the second wave of the pandemic has quietly begun. The new flu virus is not lethal, but experts are keeping an eye on it to see if it will mutate. Therefore, Hong Kong must remain vigilant - must not lower its guard. Hong Kong has achieved much in tackling the pandemic in the first stage. As the second wave of the flu pandemic has begun, it should change its strategy in the light of its characteristics. The government should, for example, stop requiring travellers to fill in health declarations. To fight the protracted war against the new flu properly, Hong Kong should pool its resources to cure flu patients.
