【明報專訊】THE RESIGNATION OF TWO UK JUDGES from Hong Kong's Court of Final Appeal as overseas Non-Permanent Judges (NPJ) has rekindled discussions about the rule of law. Both judges cited Hong Kong's political situation as the reason for stepping down. Jonathan Sumption, one of the judges, even commented that "the rule of law in Hong Kong is in grave danger". However, Australian judge Patrick Keane, who remains in the Hong Kong top court, maintained that the city's judiciary remains independent.
