It will record an estimated deficit of over $100 billion this fiscal year, and it does not have an optimistic outlook over the situation in the next. Offering a glimpse into the Budget, which will be announced next month, Financial Secretary Paul Chan said certain public services fees and charges that have not been adjusted for a long time are under review. Given the recent statements made by multiple officials, the government will not back down from raising public hospital Accident & Emergency (A&E) charges.
