Just recently the Legislative Council has adopted a non-binding motion, urging the government to review the public finances and explore ways to increase revenue and reduce expenditure. But when it comes to lawmakers' remuneration, allowances and various kinds of reimbursements for expenses, they seem to hold a different view.
