【明報專訊】THE GOVERNMENT has unveiled the Northern Metropolis Action Agenda, which outlined development plans and timetables but did not mention the building costs of the entire project. Developing the Northern Metropolis does not involve large-scale land reclamation, but the compensations for land resumption will not be a small sum. Many problems have to be handled properly in the cooperation between the public and private sectors on building the Northern Metropolis together. The government must maintain an innovation-oriented, tech-centric and industry-driven approach. It must ensure that the development of the Northern Metropolis will not be bent out of shape, nor will its construction pace be dragged down by private interests.
