【明報專訊】THE NOMINATION PERIOD for the District Council election will soon kick off. Anyone who wishes to stand for the election must be nominated by members of the three District Committees (''Three Committees''). However, citing ''personal privacy'' as the reason, the government has refused to provide the contact information of the members to potential candidates. Executive Council member Ronny Tong Ka-wah has said that this might be challenged by judicial review. Although some members of the Three Committees have been engaging in district work for many years, it does not mean that their contact information is widely known. On the contrary, it is precisely because they are public figures in the districts that they should be easily reached by others.
