【明報專訊】A PAIR OF MIDDLE-AGED BROTHERS, who were both mentally impaired, are suspected to have died of starvation due to lack of care after their mother was admitted to hospital. The incident has once again highlighted the plight of those low-income families in which the elderly have to care for the disabled. It has also exposed the inadequate support and follow-up of the authorities and the absence of coordination between different departments, as a result of which the lack of care for the pair of mentally retarded brothers was not detected as early as possible.
