【明報專訊】In the early hours of yesterday (19 April), a Hongkong Electric power supply system failure caused power cuts in multiple regions of Hong Kong Island. Among the affected areas are Ap Lei Chau in the Southern District, the Eastern District's Heng Fa Chuen, Tai Koo and Shau Kei Wan, Wan Chai's Morrison Hill and Moreton Terrace, as well as Central and Pokfulam. Street lamps went off, traffic lights malfunctioned, and mobile networks and broadband were disconnected. People were trapped in lifts, and the fire service received many calls for help. In several hospitals on the island, certain equipment required a system reset.
